PROMPT: The "M" Command

As I said, I'd work on getting pictures of the PROMPT commands we use. I'll try to get one posted every day or every other day. The first one is the "M" ("mmmmmm") command.

To do this PROMPT command: Facing the child, place the back of index and middle finger on the child's lips. Say the sound "mmmmm" as you have your fingers on the child's lips and then pull the fingers away. Do this to help encourage the child to say the "m" sound. Say the sound when you are giving the PROMPT command and also as you move your fingers away. Some support may be necessary with your other hand for the child's head/mouth.

Do you have promp commands for the g-as in aargggg sound and the 's" sound. Kallen will often/most of the time, leave out the s in the beginning of the word. He puts it at the back of the word. The g- one might be a bit tough, because it's different from the way you say it? I'll check your blog for answers- not in a hurry.

I edited the "G Command" post, as that PROMPT is for any "G" sound and also for the "K" sound.

The "S" sound is a very difficult PROMPT and requires a couple commands. But, there is an idea that we've used with Osiyyah some and I'll share in another post.

I found your blog a couple of weeks ago and want to thank you for sharing these PROMPT commands. I have been using all of the commands you shared with my daughter while waiting for our appointment with a PROMPT therapist. Thanks so much for posting these!
